Tap the "+" button on the main screen, select an activity type, fill in the details (title, location, time, difficulty), and tap "Create Activity". Your activity will be visible to other users.
Browse activities on the main screen, tap on one you're interested in, and swipe left on the activity card or tap the "Join" button. The host will receive your join request and can accept or decline.
You can cancel a join request twice for the same activity. This limit is the same on every tier, including Premium — it is an anti-spam measure, not a subscription feature, and it does not reset. The limit applies only to cancelling a request for that one activity; you can still request to join other activities as normal.
During an active activity, location supports navigation, meeting up and participant sharing. Use Privacy Settings → Location Sharing to manage participant visibility. You can also change location access in iOS Settings; limiting access can affect navigation and nearby features. Saved route and city history are separate from live sharing.
When you send a join request or someone sends you one, a chat room is automatically created. Go to the Messages tab to view all your conversations. You can also chat with activity participants once you've joined.
Eligible chats offer Delete for me or a personal history cutoff. This hides history for your account without erasing the shared messages for other participants, and new messages can still appear. Chat and message actions depend on membership and the conversation state. A scheduled room-wide deletion is separate from hiding a chat for yourself.
Go to your Profile tab, tap "Edit Profile", then tap the camera icon on your profile picture. You can take a new photo or choose from your photo library.
If you encounter inappropriate behavior or content, please email us at technical_support@walktalk.me with details. Include the username, activity/message details, and any screenshots if possible.
Make sure notifications are enabled:
If notifications are enabled but you're still not receiving them, try logging out and back in.
If you use email and a password to sign in, open the app's sign-in screen, tap "Forgot your password?", enter your email address, and tap "Send Reset Link". If an account with that email exists, you will receive reset instructions by email; check your spam folder too.
If you sign in with Apple or Google, use that sign-in option and manage access through the provider. Contact technical_support@walktalk.me if you need help accessing WalkTalk. Do not send your password or sign-in codes.
Confirming deletion starts permanent removal of your WalkTalk account. There is no account-restoration period, and some server cleanup runs asynchronously.
In the App:
Deletion covers your profile, activities you created, messages you sent in chats you still belong to, pending join requests, and your participation in joined activities. Messages in chats you previously left, shared copies and stored attachments may remain. Confirmation does not mean every backup or provider-held copy has already been erased.
Apple subscriptions: Deleting your WalkTalk account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Use "Manage Apple Subscription" on the deletion screen or open iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions to stop future charges. Subscription cancellation is not required to delete your account.
If you cannot access your account or need help with remaining data, email technical_support@walktalk.me with the subject "Account deletion" and your registered email address. We may need to verify account ownership. Do not send your password, sign-in codes or private recovery credential.
Warning: Account deletion is permanent. Read the app's confirmation screen and use a disposable account if you are testing this feature.
Privacy Settings includes controls for sharing your live location with activity participants. Live position sharing is different from saved route and city history: planned routes, recorded walks and city visits can remain in activity history, Explore and Passport. Turning off live sharing does not itself erase these records. Read our Privacy Policy for more details.
